Position Summary:
The 2nd Shift Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership and direction to plant maintenance department. Responsible for repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment in manufacturing operations. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation to ensure continuous production operations.  Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of the Maintenance Department.
  • Manage and update work orders, PM Programs, and Inventory Controls.
  • Provides a safe work environment for employees.
  • Assists with capital planning, proposals for new equipment, the budgeting process, monitor expenditures and assists with cost improvement projects.
  • Recognizes and takes steps to resolve operating problems in order to minimize their impact on the operations.
  • Responsible for managing contractors while they are onsite to include personal safety, food safety, and plant GMP requirements.
  • Cooperates with all departments to assure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
  • Develop and/or maintain the programs necessary to ensure all maintenance employees are properly trained in order to meet company objectives. This will include safety, product quality, environmental compliance, and professional development.

Be acquainted with local/state/federal environmental regulations and ensure compliance with all operational permits.

  • Lead and participate in plant and corporate continuous improvement teams to promote facility growth and development.
  • Actively participate in the PSM Program.
  • Complete and supervise special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

 

  • 2 years of proven leadership or supervisory experience in an industrial operation, maintenance or utilities operations is preferred.

 

  • Experience in food processing

 

  • Experience in the installation, diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment through troubleshooting required. Electrical troubleshooting is a plus.

Experience in the operation and repair of refrigeration and utility equipment/systems.

 

  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical power transmission equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, process pumps, control valves, sensors, positioners, actuators, manifolds, vacuum systems, air filtration, lubrication devices and basic electrical AC/DC Troubleshooting and related system.
